The Consul General
Anton K. Smith began his career with the U.S. Department of State in 1994, assuming the position of Economic Officer. He served abroad in Mexico, Germany, Macedonia, Iraq, and Equatorial Guinea prior to his assignment as Consul General in Halifax (as of November 2009). He has also had staff assignments with the Senate Banking Committee and as a Senior Watch Officer in the Secretary’s Operations Center.
He holds a B.A. in English from Henderson State University in his home state of Arkansas, as well as Master’s degrees from Georgetown University and the U.S. Army War College.
